Bad Ass 100% Kona Peaberry is something special. Not only are peaberries hard and unpredictable to find, representing less than 5 percent of our Kona Beans harvested, but they also require focused sorting, separate roasting, and careful handling. Peaberries form when one of the seeds in the coffee fruit, the “cherry,” does not fertilize, leaving one bean inside the fruit. This rare, and often misunderstood, coffee bean is a special part of coffee harvest time and a real treat. It is often called the “champagne of coffee”.
Typically, peaberry is more complex in the upper aromatic ranges of the profile having bright acidity with notes of cherry, citrus fruit, and a naturally sweet after taste. Roasted with care as a medium, full city roast to bring out the flavors.
