Ka'ū, Hawai'i
On Hawai'i island, home to the famous Kona coffee growing region, there are 3 other less well known growing regions. One of our favorites is Ka‘ū. This region is south of Kona on the west and the famous Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park on the east. Ka‘ū returned to growing coffee after the closure of the local sugar mill in 1996. Since then, its reputation has grown, though it is still often a hidden gem.
